I chose to watch “Saw”. This movie had no actual sex, and I didn’t feel there were actually any sexual innuendos in the movie at all. There were no scantily clad dressed women, no sex, and the only actual kiss between 2 people was between a father and a daughter saying goodnight. I didn’t see anything sexual in the movie at all. The obscenities involved with this movie were only those of a violent nature such as blood and gore.
I think it is too easy for young kids to watch these videos. It should be a concern for parents of how easily accessible movies are to children. I believe that these movies should only be available to viewers of a certain age that can distinguish fact and fiction from reality.
I believe that through the use of modeling theory some of the younger kids who watch any horror/slasher film could be influenced over time. Children may look at some of the movies and bring it into use for everyday.
For instance a kid could perceive a bully as a bad guy, and by watching these movies would find ways to stop the bully. Burning, torturing, shooting, or any other way that villains are killed in movies.
